Constellation Poem 3

Lyra

Alpha

Clouds against blue sky
White etched on a glass table
Shadows shape shifting.

Beta

Seagulls’ loud squawking
Wings flap, white bodies bouncing
Buoyant plastic toys.

Gamma

Silvery white Moon
Retreats, preparing to flow
The fourth of quarters.

Delta

Ropy thick branches
Eyebrows knitted together
Nests, where birds nurture.

Epsilon

Birds’ layered vocals
An ancient stringed instrument
The stars of Lyra.

GL, 7/4/2010. Prevail.
